find new committed members for our charities by

Our
Method Part 1:
-
Between 5.30pm
and 7pm, you:
-
Walk around, visiting 50 – 100 houses in the
selected area, speaking very briefly to
people on their doorsteps.
-
Ask a simple
question to identify those with an interest
in reading a reusable booklet about
wildlife/woodland conservation.
-
make an
informal arrangement to collect the booklet
another time.
-
make no attempt
to engage people in a conversation or answer
questions at this stage.
Our
Method Part 2:
After 7pm,you:
-
return to
collect booklets left the previous evenings
-
find out
whether people are interested in becoming
members of the charity
-
fill in a form
for those who wish to join
-
In all cases,
you ensure that your demeanour is friendly
and informal.
Polite and
Friendly
You’ll
find that people will be polite and friendly,
and some will even thank you for calling on them
in such a pleasant manner.
This side of the
job is rewarding in itself, even if people have
decided not to support the charity!
